An Animal Rescue Retreat
Peaceful Promise Farm works with State and local Animal Control and rescue organizations to provide a safe environment for neglected and unwanted farm and domestic animals. Founded by Pam and Ron DePas, our retreat is a place of healing, connection, and hope.
Peaceful Promise Farm is an animal rescue retreat founded by Pam and Ron DePas. We work closely with State and local Animal Control and other rescue organizations to provide a safe environment for neglected and unwanted farm and domestic animals. Primary care for the animals and facility is provided by Ron and Pam, with additional assistance from dedicated volunteers.
As a working farm, activities are ongoing every day. Operating the farm takes approximately three hours per day for basic care and feeding, with at least one full day most weekends dedicated to grounds maintenance, supply runs, and upkeep of buildings, stalls, paddocks, and fencing.
Farm visits are open to the public by appointment. Activities are conducted by founders Pam and Ron DePas and volunteers. As this is a working farm, activities are ongoing — so you'll see the real day-to-day of animal rescue in action.

Please note: Visitor riding will not be offered until spring 2027.
Learn MoreIn addition to rescue, we are building partnerships to share the comfort of time with animals with children and families of all abilities, support education, and serve our community.
We welcome children and families of all abilities to spend time with the animals. Several families currently visit the farm regularly and enjoy helping out where they are able.
We are exploring partnerships with homeschool organizations to support science curriculums, hosting farm visits and bringing in subject matter experts to talk about farming and animal care.
We are developing a program with local schools to allow students to fulfill required volunteer service hours at the farm, supporting animal care and facility maintenance.
"We attend local summer and fall festivals, hosting a booth with literature and information about the organization. Sometimes we bring smaller animals for the public to interact with. These events help raise awareness and provide education on the need for proper animal care, rescue, and the responsibilities of animal ownership."
Everyone at Peaceful Promise Farm has a story.
Some of the animals who shaped Peaceful Promise Farm are no longer with us. We remember them here, with gratitude for every day we shared.
Every morning starts the same way: feeding, fresh water, and a promise kept.
Horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats, dogs, and even fish all share the farm. Here's a glimpse of everyday life.
